This restaurant is a real neighborhood treasure that will satisfy all your diner cravings. They offer an excellent Turkey bacon club, homemade Mexican classics like sopes (don’t forget to try their delicious salsas and freshly fried chips!), and even southern comforts like chicken fried steak with gravy. The portions are generous, the staff and cooks are incredibly friendly, and the restaurant itself is very clean and cozy. It took me some time to discover what lay behind the unpretentious storefront on North Ave, but I’m so glad I live close enough to walk here. I highly recommend everyone check out this Galewood classic!
Nick’s is a fixture in Galewood and has been foe about 11 years now. It has very decent Mexican and American diner food, and quite a big selection of it. It is clean, the service is fast and very friendly; great spot for a quick, unfussy meal in the neighborhood. Not a “bring her on a first date” kind of place, but very consistent and reliable, plus decent prices and big portions. I’m very fond of it.
Great hide away spot for tasty breakfast...omelet with pancakes and grits $15.. parking in front or side street. Small and cozy about 8 tables..service was friendly and warm.I enjoyed the breakfast and appreciated the quiet atmosphere.Vegetarian options: No meat options available
When you see Specials on the menu, they mean it (portion wise). It was quick Hi, sit where you like. And then I was given coffee. Simple.The menu is grand but because the food is simple AND good, it doesn 't need to be. Worth it and will come again.

This is a fantastic restaurant that I’ve been visiting for over 14 years. It’s a family-owned establishment that serves home-cooked meals and offers a friendly atmosphere. I've always been treated well here. Highly recommend! Food: 5/5
Had an amazing experience on our first time here. A small but clean place with great food and service. Jasmin our server took really good care of us. Highly recommended and will definitely be back to try other stuff on the menu.
