First date with Nickel selected as venue generated great
excitement. The website photos are beautiful and as I entered the restaurant,
reality did not disappoint.
Unfortunately, the waiter was too busy being fabulous to
even recognise that I had walked through the door, so after being ignored, I
visually located my dinner partner and sat myself down.
We were located at the couples tables at the front of the
restaurant and although I was alarmed at first (I didn’t want my neighbours
listening to my first-date banter), I was somewhat relieved that this was
impossible. The restaurant was so noisy I could barely hear my date. He also
complained of the distraction of passing foot traffic on the...
The food was gorgeous we are the Morton bag bugs and the beef with potato galette.
Like others have said, the service was terrible from the very beginning as soon as we walked in the door. We had to hunt down staff to order drinks and food. My cocktail was terrible. Extremely sour. Our deconstructed cocktails came with no explanation of what anything on the board was.
The atmosphere also isn't great, lighting way too bright and I don't remember hearing any music. The decor in the restaurant is beautiful but some of the seating is quite awkward.
Would come back only for the food- only if they get new staff!
Forgot to mention: the waiter chased us outside once we had paid and left to go...
Decided to do a walkin on Friday night, we were promptly seated at the high bar in the back which was more than acceptable as the place was packed with diners. We decided to indulge and share a dozen oysters Rockefeller as an entree and they were some of tyre nicest I've had in Australia, not up to the standard of the traditional ones you'll have in the states, but still impressive. Mains were confit duck and the scallops, both of which were incredible...topped off with a wonderful Grenache, it wad a prefect end to a great day. Only downside was our waiter was obviously new and learning the restaurants software system, which caused a couple of minors issues, but they were totally understanda...
We had a celebratory weekend lunch at Nickel and were more than pleased with everything about the experience. The food was fantastic and the staff exceptional. There are vegan and gluten free options available, and I was grateful to the chef for making modifications to some menu items to meet my dietary requirements. I'd love to recommend a favourite dish but they were all amazing. Great cocktails and ambience as well.

Great dining experience the food was amazing nice influence of French and Spanish food. The waiter was hilarious and his know how about all the wines was impressive
This is a lovely restaurant but very noisy! We were sitting in the most comfortable seats ever but I ended up perching on the end to be able to hear my friends.
Had brunch here which seems a bit out of place for a dressed up restaurant, but I was willing to give it a shotStaff were quite pleasant and attentive.
Very disappointed. Nice enough decor and drinks but service was marginal and no one cared that I didn't eat most of my meal (which was inedible )

We went their for our best friend girls birthday lunch. The cocktails, food, service and lunch deal were ideal. Great lunch afternoon.
The food was excellent, sommelier was very helpful in pairing wine for each dish. I really enjoyed the Ox Tongue Ravioli.
