We visited Nikki's Chaat Café on a Saturday after a walk near Lake Tahoe, and they were offering a buffet at the time. When I asked an employee about vegan options, he carefully went through each dish to identify which were vegan and even double-checked with the cook to confirm a few weren’t safe. I really appreciated his thoroughness! Most of the options were quite delicious, especially the samosas. The crust was flavorful, not too hard, and the fillings were very tasty. Except for a reasonable ambience, there's nothing much in this place that makes you feel like you entered a restaurant. The staff are rude and unprofessional. Food takes more than 45 minutes to be prepared. In fact the kitchen is so loud that you canhear everything being prepared. We ordered a pav bhaji instead we were served bagel bhaji. Tea was served in paper cups. Ithink these folks know that their service sucks hence they forcibly add a tip of 18%. Would never recommend this place.

Naan equipped with buffet together with a mango drink. Chicken Madras and butter chicken had good taste. Costs are about $18 and in accordance with Tahoe prices

Below average overpriced food. The only good things we could eat were the Indo Chinese noodles , fried rice and the tapioca pudding. The curries are not cooked properly. Could feel the raw taste of chicken curries. For such a below average buffet Iwould say 20$ is too much.
I had dinner at this restaurant, and the food was quite good. The mixed vegetable pakora and garlic naan were delicious and definitely worth trying. I also sampled their chicken curry, which was just okay, and the chicken tikka kebab.
The best Indian restaurant near Lake Tahoe. The food was hot, fresh and tastier than other Indian places in the area. It is not easy to offer such a great experience for Indian food lovers in such a remote place!
Nikki's Chaat Café is a fantastic spot with delicious food and outstanding staff. Their menu clearly highlights vegan dishes with stars, making it easy to choose.
