I visited this caffe several times. once with my father, once with my friends and recently alone. all men of color. I have always found the personal or the owners to be very dismissed from me, rude and abrupt, but nevertheless friendly with all. Caucasian guests around me. they ask to clean my tellers away when there are still food in them, but not even an eyelid with those who have empty tellers and were there for one. the only difference is my skin color. I always feel excited and despised. I see the friendly tone they keep around with others, but I'll never be greeted in a nice way. they have been abrupt and rude at every occasion, and they make clear that they are. it is very frustrating...

Perfect poached eggs, delicious Kent sausages , crispy bacon , beans and mushrooms , served with thick cut toast and butter he actually demolished it in seconds 43 seconds to be exact he washed that down with a latte . this is a cozy little tee room and a real boon for the opposite. it was quite a bit too midday, but to the luck there were some available tables (we had not booked) and we received a friendly reception from the staff. our hot drinks came...promptly, but then there was a long wait time for our food arriving (over 30 minutes,) so that diners need to factorize this in busy times. it was worth waiting, eating was nicely homemade lasagne and a fabulous quiche lorraine, both dishes served with the most amazing salads. we could not fail to eat and we felt it was an excellent value for money. they serve the most beautiful looking cake here, which can also be bought to take away. Me and my family had a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate my nan's birthday. Adrian was kind enough to book us in as the only customers, ensuring that the experience was safe for my family and Nan. As usual, the food was outstanding, great selection...of both classic and experimental sandwiches, freshly made cakes and scones and of course loads of tea and coffee. (We even took a few cakes home as there was so much provided). The team went out of their way to make sure the environment was clean and hygienic whilst still maintaining a great tea room atmosphere and delivering a wonderful experience. Great food, staff, setting and price. Would highly recommend.

I was treated to my birthday tee, but I don't mean that the personal knew how she wouldn't have been talking to my own or my husband. the waitress was openly aggressive and seemed to be calm that she must serve us. when the cakes came out, they had either nuts and I have a nut allergy from which they were informed before the hand, or a scones with rust that I don't like. I am very disappointed that the use, a nice caffe has lost its personal note

Lovely people, lovely food (especially the cakes). They really care about what they do and also look after people really well. I've taken friends there from all over the place (Scotland, Australia and so on) and they still talk about it when we meet up,...so clearly it made a good impression. It's the apotheosis of tearooms (a word I've looked up specially for this review).
Just found a positive reason for Covid, I could have tea and cake at No 84 for a change. You can reserve a table now which is great, usually it was so packed you could never rely on getting a table. Great service and amazing...cakes, although the couple sitting nearby had a breakfast which looked wonderful, so may give that a go next time. I can’t wait to return.

Popped in on saturday as heard good things wasnt let down the cake was amazing and portions were huge! Tried the chocolate fudge and chocolate orange would recommend both! 2 cakes a pot of tea and latte come to about £11
