Noodles Pho U Naperville

I have ordered vermicelli bowls from this location before. The grilled pork used to be much better but has significantly gone down hill in recent visits. We decided to order vermicelli bowls with beef and chicken today. The meat was SO salty that we could not eat it as is. We had to rinse it in hot water for it to be tolerable, but it was still salty after rinsing. Pho Thien on 75th is much better and consistent in their quality. We wanted to give Noodles Pho U a chance and have actually ordered from this location at least 5-6x but decided that we will only be ordering Vietnamese food from Pho Thien going forward unless something changes. The restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere, giving off a very 'homely' vibe. It appears to be family-owned. Their main specialty is pho, which is highlighted in their name, and it is both delicious and flavorful. They offer a wide variety of pho options, including vegetarian, seafood, beef, and chicken. In addition to pho, there are numerous Thai dishes available as well. The interior is nicely decorated, creating a pleasant ambiance. However, I've noticed during my visits that there is no music playing, which makes the place feel quite quiet, almost like a library. As for parking, there is plenty available in the strip mall where the restaurant is located.

I used to enjoy getting pho from this place frequently before the pandemic; it was the best pho I had ever tasted. However, after COVID, the flavor began to change gradually, which led me to stop going. Today, after at least a year, I decided to give them another chance. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The taste is completely different now. They didn't even provide fish sauce or Sriracha with my pho, nor did I receive the usual bag of vegetables that typically accompanies it (bean sprouts, basil, lime). I'm really sorry, but I won't be returning.

Surprised at some of the low ratings, though mine is based off of a pick-up doordash order. Carried out a papaya salad, tomato rice with beef cubes, and a tofu pad see-ew. Everything was delicious given it was all ordered at the end of the day. I think the beef cubes saved the meal since it was so rich in flavor, while the pad see-ew was bland. The management at this restaurant could really benefit from improving their customer service and friendliness. It gives off a vibe reminiscent of the "no soup for you" Seinfeld episode. This might be part of their culture. As for the food, it’s decent at times, but often just average.

Bun was good, Pho was good, but slightly expensive for the portion.Spring rolls big, good, and sauce was good.Food was hot.Owner who bussed tables, was charming.Only thing that would slow my return is $29/ person for rolls entree tip.

The food seems to lack consistency; this time the broth had no flavor at all, almost as if an ingredient was forgotten. However, the owner and the staff were fantastic, providing excellent customer service. Food rating: 2/5.
