Nordlicht Die Original Islandbar

During our two week holiday we visited Nordlicht several times. It certainly is a highlight in an otherwise rather dull choice of restaurants. Unfortunately, they are only open Thursday through Sunday, so if you're eating out in or around Hollfeld, you have to find someplace else to go Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Nordlicht is run by a family of Icelanders, so their focus is rather fish. On our previous vacation to the area I had a fish platter which was lovely. However, this time I couldn't get enough of the Scandinavia pizza with salmon, spinach, house sauce and the most amazing pizza dough while my husband favoured the Bacon pizza with, needless to say, lots of bacon, ham and blue chees...

Who loves Iceland will definitely feel comfortable here. The menu includes normal common dishes (e.g. pizza) as well as typical local dishes (e.g. pickled island salmon). The café also offers a food truck with original Icelandic hot dogs. The cake is also highly recommended. We like to come back.
