North Powder Cafe & Truck Stop

I can't even begin to explain how near and dear to my heart this little café has been, and always will be to me!! Every visit, (though, not as often as I'd like, these days), is always a little dose of wonderful, happy childhood memories (along with continuously AMAZING food and service, of course). I can't describe the feeling it gives me to walk in and see everything almost exactly how it was 26 years ago, when my grandmother worked here, before her tragic, unexpected passing.. The food alone is phenomenal and more than a good enough reason to stop and eat here! I'll be driving clear from Elgin this morning to enjoy a much needed home cooked meal! Wow from the fresh made gravy’s to the fresh Italian dressings to the crispy lettuce to the whipped mashed potatoes. The pork chops weren’t burnt nor oily. I still like the fire pork chops though they had a unique taste. Would definitely recommend to anyone willing to stop ! Waitresses were courteous. Allowed me to come in just before closing the door for the night and have a daily meal. Both ladies were warm welcoming and pleasant. Thank you so much. Best not homemade meal in 6+ months being on the road

My husband and I stopped for fuel and saw the North Powder Cafe and decided to stop for lunch. My husband ordered porkchops and eggs which he said was really good. I ordered a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with fresh cantaloupe and it was delicious. The service is great. Highly recommend eating here.

I had the Prime Rib special, baked Potato, corn Salad. It was great! I'll be coming back here. On another visit I had the mushrooms burger home made fries.

By far the best Roast Beef sandwhich I've ever eaten in my life, and the service was immaculate. I'm definitely grateful to have experienced this café.
