The restaurant's interior was stunning, the food was served quickly, and the staff was pleasant. However, I ordered the chicken Pad Thai, and unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. There were two unexpected pieces of tofu in the dish, which didn’t seem intentional. The chicken and noodles both lacked flavor, though the noodles had a hint of sweetness. For over $17, I felt like I was eating simply boiled chicken and rice noodles with just a bit of sugar and chopped peanuts on top. I really dislike leaving negative reviews, and I understand that my experience might have been a rare occurrence, but I don’t think I’ll be ordering from here again.
I'm from Northern Virginia, down in Tucker visiting my mom and we just had an amazing dinner at Northlake Thai. The food was delicious, we both started off with the seafood bisque and the crab spring rolls. The bisque was not what I was expecting, but it was rich, flavorful, and didn't get cold as they served it over a candle. The spring rolls were very tasty as well. My mom ordered the crispy coconut prawns and I had the jumbo prawns in galanga sauce. The portions were good and the food was amazing. If you're a local, do yourself a favor and don't just order take-out, stop in and enjoy the details of this gem.
So let's talk about food first. The food was amazing! I now consider it as one of my new favorite Thai places. I had the pad Thai and my wife had the mango chicken. Everything was very well prepared. Now evil. The atmosphere inside is like a very chic restaurant in upscale style, but the place is in a kind of sketchy shopping lane. We went in with a t-shirt and shorts and felt very out of place. The employees were obviously upset about that. Absolutely no indication of what kind of place it should be.
I had a wonderful surprise at this restaurant located in a strip mall. The decor is lovely, complete with white tablecloths. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the delicious chocolate chicken soup. We also received a complimentary spring roll appetizer that was delightful. The duck breast with eggplant was tasty, and the chicken with mango was outstanding as well. NOT WORTH THE TRIP OR TASTEBUDS!!! We had, 2 glasses of wine, 1 order of dumplings for an appetizer (4/order), 1 cup of soup and 1 entree. The bill with tip was $75! The menu was a French influenced Thai cuisine, yet the food tasted of neither. It wasweird. Beef was the texture of a lean cuisine frozen entree. The staff was wonderful! The two ladies working were superfriendly and sweet. Unfortunately, the rest was extremely disappointing. We would not go back.
What a fantastic dinner! It was our first visit, and we'll definitely be returning. The coconut soup is a must-try—absolutely delicious. The chicken pad Thai was excellent, and my wife loved the crispy shrimp in red curry sauce; it had the perfect amount of spice. To top it all off, the Thai tea was a nice way to end our meal. It’s easy to see why this restaurant has been around for 40 years. Do yourself a favor and go enjoy a meal here!
This restaurant is an absolute gem! The food is incredible and there's plenty of it. I really love the Thai tea, and the salad and beef puffs are fantastic too. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is lovely—all at an excellent and reasonable price. If you can't dine in, definitely get it to go because the food is absolutely worth it! Highly recommend!
What a wonderful dinner! Our first time and we'll be back. Tasty coconut soup should not be missed. Chicken pad thai was excellent and crispy prawns in red curry sauce pleased my wife very much. I ordered the veggie pad Thai, but it only had peppers and onions—no other vegetables at all. This felt quite misleading, and they were not responsive to my concerns. The sauce was tasteless, and overall, I've noticed a decline in their quality. It was a waste of money. I wouldn't recommend going there.
