During my most recent visit, I asked a simple question while checking out, Do you have a loyalty, frequent buyer card? For some strange reason, the older, balding, heavy-set day manager, after hearing me ask that question, said, You first need to bea loyal customer. Somewhat surprised, I retorted, Do you want me to leave? The day manager then absurdly replied, notwithout your food , to which I said, Want to try me? Fortunately for him, he smartened up and didn 't say a word, knowing Iwas serious...and somewhat annoyed. Look, I realize this deli has been a long standing fixture in Northport, but I just movedto the area. As such, I have not had the time to demonstrate extended brand loyalty . However, by me asking for a loyaltycard, any reasonably intelligent individual would know I was looking to establish a relationship with his store. Well, absentan apology, I plan on taking my business to one of the many delis in the area.
