I happened past this restuarant on a walk and took the menu from the holder out the front. Reading at home there was avgreat selection of dishes and I knew that I needed to try it out soon. Tonight I had that opportunity and it was so far beyond my expectations. It has been a long time since I have had such a well rounded and thoroughly enjoyable experience in a restaurant. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome and well taken care of. The service was friendly and efficient. The food came quickly and well spaced. Awful experience. Poor service. Avoid unless you want to be let down. The manager overbooked my party of 15 and placed us on the dance floor despite our reservation made weeks in advance. When the band started playing, we had to scramble for seats around the room. Although the manager promised to comp us some tapas to compensate for his error, he never followed through. Our food took 1.5 hours to arrive, with some dishes being delivered to the wrong table and never corrected. A large group of us went to dinner here. The menu was very enticing. So much so we wanted to try everything. We ended up doing the set menu. A great compromise as you get to sample quite a few dishes. At $45 a head including sangria it was great value for money. The staff were efficient and friendly. They were most helpful with our one fussy eater. The churro were made on the premises and served hot! Yum. I will definitely come back to try other things. The menu is definitely more varied than your average South American restaurant in Melbourne.
Both my partner and I were very disappointed with all our food. Entree consisting of 3 very small corn tortillas and fillings for $22 wasn't nice at all. I had the pork belly, tasteless, fatty and just blah for $36 I expected alot more for my money. My husband had the Steak, he asked for medium but was well done, tasteless as well. We eat out atleast once a week and have been to some very nice restaurants, unfortunately this wasn't one of them. The ambience was great and staff lovely. We celebrated a friends birthday here and had a great night! The service and atmosphere were excellent! The food was also fantastic - we had croquetas, ceviche (delicious and highly recommended) as well as the squid ink paella. This was slightly disappointing and I wouldn't order it again. Churros for dessert were some of the best I've ever had - yum! Live music on a Saturday night, with great company, service and food means that I will definitely go back! Oh and I forgot to mention the margarita's - so good!
The food at this restaurant is delicious, but the service can be slow and disorganized at times. I have visited with my family, mostly adults, on multiple occasions and we have always enjoyed the food and cocktails. The live entertainment adds to the fun atmosphere. However, during my last visit, we experienced difficulties getting served after placing our initial order, which was disappointing and affected our overall experience.
We celebrated our daughter's birthday here. The food was delicious. The waiter was great-very helpful. All the staff were very nice. The night we went a band were playing Latin American music. The atmosphere was conducive to getting up and having a dance - and we are normally reserved sort of people but the dancing was great fun and the music was really good. We loved the food and the atmosphere here. Thank you for a great night.
Went there for dinner just happened to be in the area. A real surprise how good the food is. It's very home style rather than 'fancy' cuisine, but that's what makes it so good. I had a kind of seafood casserole which was loaded with prawns and it had chickpeas which was excellent. We also had salads and pupusas (cheese filled corn meal pancakes) which were also very good. The friendly staff made us feel welcome and relaxed in typical Latin style. Our waiter patiently explained the various items on the menu as we had not had South American food before. The food was delicious and the portions quite generous. Friday and Saturday nights they have a band. Recommended!
