"We had late dinner after 7-hour-drive to Toronto. The owner was super nice, friendly guy and his wife cooked great food. We had a sample of vegetable and meat dishes and everything was yummy and not too spicy."

There is not much to say, the food is just awesome! There are not many choices on the menu (which is divided between vegetarian and carnivores) and I always suggest to get the misto-misto the first times, to try everything. The injera (the ethiopian bread with which you eat the food - nu cutlery, just hands :P) is really made with the traditional teff flour (not wheat like in many other restaurants) and the quality of the food is excellent and always well presented on the plate. Other points in favor: the staff is very nice and the ambience is good. One more suggestion: try the tea, if you like it strong and spicy. It goes very well with the ethiopian food.
Following a broadway show, we decided to try a different Ethiopian restaurant from "Ethiopian House". While the food tasted great, full of flavours and variety, the cost and the amount included for 2 people left us surprised. The $45 cost for the FULL portion shown in the picture does not compare to Ethiopian House, which is half the cost and twice as much serving size!!!We're happy to have given this spot a chance, but I doubt we'll make our way back again.
Came across this place as we were staying nearby on a weekend trip. Didn't have a reservation, and there was a big party happening, but they were still able to seat us. Google described this place as "etheopian fusion", but the food seemed very traditional and similar to what I've had before. But that's not a complaint; the food was amazing! We shared the vegetarian tasting platter. So good, and a great price, too.
The place we have introduced folks to turns out to match our previous experience of excellence. A couple of summers ago we were in Toronto and our nephews took us to Nunu. We were able to pass it forward to our young friends. The dinner, vegetarian this time was superb with lots of wonderful flavor and amazing textures. Good times. Reserva una mesa ahora
Spent a wonderful evening at Nunu, and will definitely return. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious and the wine/ drinks menu impressive. We had the Gommen Wat (greens) Fasolia and Nunu's Happy Chicken. Could have gone back for seconds on all three. Points for the GF injera - a rare treat for my boyfriend.
We had a fabulous Ethiopian dinner at Nunu (5 of us) just a week ago. This was our second meal there, and we would definitely go again when we are back in Toronto. We stayed at the Gladstone, which is just a short walk along Queen West. The service, ambience, and food were all the best ! See you again in June !
The food at Nunu is amazing. My husband and I travelled to Ethiopia and we love Ethiopian food and I have to say that Nunu is comparable to the food we enjoyed on our trip. We have been coming to Nunu for a few years now and we always enjoy the food and the atmosphere.
Ethiopian food is seemingly adventurous for the first-timer, but if you are going to give it a shot in Toronto, Nunu is the place to do it. I have tried a half-dozen well-regarded peer restaurants in the city, and while they were all delicious, Nunu...More Reserva una mesa ahora
