This little restaurant in Sainte-Jalle in the Drôme has a very appealing terrace. It hangs above a little river (the rieu frais) and is shaded by trees. We try to have lunch here at least once when we visit the region. The daily lunch menu...offers lots of options and is very affordable. Expect simple dishes without much further ado. Unfortunately this time the quality of the dishes was rather mixed (don 't opt for the risotto) and so we left with the impression that we had had better luches here before so that explains the average rating. We will however come back and try again as the terrace is so inviting and we are convinced we were a bit unlucky in our choices.

Being unaccustomed to French dining times we arrived here at 14:00 something. Two prior restaurants had sent us away with the message that we were to late for lunch. At this restaurant they showed us the hospitality we were hoping for but not expecting anymore....The main courses were very french and very good. The desserts were to die for. One disadvantage was the busy road on one side of the terrace which could not completely be balanced by the nice view on a small river on the other side of the terrace. Nevertheless I would recommend this spot to everyone who loves simple but delicious french food!

Despite the heat wave, there is usually a breeze at this height and we have booked a table in the shade for lunch. The terrace is on the street from the building, but it is a sleepy little village, so there is not much traffic to disturb. The menu du...jour for two cold starters, two nets and a selection of desserts. Simple bistro food was well cooked without unnecessary delay from pleasant, friendly staff. Good value.

Fine menu for 14 Euro yesterday. Good choices. Especially enjoyed the tartes aux fraises. We ate this time for rainy weather. This place is also recommended without the terrace.

Very nice terrace above the brook. Fresh food with good taste and not expensive. Children are welcome here.
