This is an honest to goodness awesome restaurant. By early evening the 10 stools at the bar are full of local men having a glass of wine and a meal who slowly rotate out and are soon replaced. The tables fill a bit later with couples or small groups doing the same. The food is simple and local and there is a limited menu but it is awesome. The staff are extraordinary. The prices are unbelievably low. Honestly unbelievable. Like they have made a mistake. I never imagined that my favourite restaurant would be on a different continent (I am Canadian) but there you go. It may be some time before I get back to Lisbon but when I do, I will be spending most of my evenings here.
I visited O Bitoque at the weekend with my mum after being recommended it for the best Bitoque (Steak, egg and chips) in Lisbon. We visited on the Friday and absolutely loved it! The staff were so welcoming and friendly! They made sure we had a great experience. The food was phenomenal and we really enjoyed our experience. We loved it so much that we went back on Monday and stayed for hours. The food is inexpensive, authentic and delicious! A real gem in Lisbon. Highly recommend!
Wow. Just finished another great meal in Lisboa. We took the trolley to Campo de Ourique and walked around the market. Nice but made for tourists. About two blocks over is this family run restaurant. Papa was cooking and mama and children out front. The grilled sea bass was delicious. The wife had a local dish. 2 half liters of wine and 2 coffees. €25,90
O Bitoque é muito bom, o prato em si e o ambiente familiar e atencioso. Volto sempre que posso sobretudo para almoçar. Se tivermos de almoçar sem companhia, estamos perfeitamente ao balcão. Aqueles salgadinhos de entrada são uma ótima desculpa para contrariar a dieta.... Reserva una mesa ahora
Um restaurante típico de bairro com uma comida muito saborosa. Ementa variada (muda diariamente) mas mantendo a sua qualidade! Ótimo ambiente com funcionários muito 'familiares '. Recomendo vivamente o empadão, bife raspado e o famoso Bitoque! Boa relação preço-qualidade.
