We found this resturant on Yelp. We are all about the samplings that shareable and appetizer menus bring and Oak Coal did not disappoint. We started with the spicy yellow tail and salmon hand rolls that were creamy and tasty, we then moved to the salmon crudo, loved it. We actually added a bowl of steamed rice to have on the side. We shared the seafood garlic noodles and loved it so much we could have kept going. We decided to finish the meal with the Ube Banana Pudding,.... OMG! The pudding was a phenomenon all on its own. We had drinks, I will say the drinks are quite pricy for the amount for the amount you get. But still tasty. We will be returning.

One of our favorite date nights was going to Oak Coal. Hannah, our waitress, was so wonderful and made sure the entire evening was a great experience. It's a rare occasion that all of the food was delicious and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend! We loved the spicy salmon hand rolls and the Bao buns lived up to their hype. My wife loved the wagyu skewers

The most american looking japanese restaurant i've seen. Priced higher than typical yakitori but still well prepared. It's a juicy steak on a stick. The dishes were served at a consistent pace. The restaurant is split into two rooms one being a low light bar and table setting and the other being more rustic with a view of the kitchen.

We've been here several times since it opened; with just the fam on a weeknight and out with friends on weekends. We love the food, service and laid back vibe. It's pricy so we don't go as often as we'd like but always look forward to it.
