This is the personnel mensa of the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), a large research centre employing thousands. However, it is open access you may eat here even if you have nothing to do with PSI, paying the same price. They offer several fixed menus as self service (tray and pay) but also a business lunch menu with table service. The quality of the food has nothing to envy to that of most restaurants in the region, the prices however are much lower (around 10 to 25 CHF). Only snag it is closed in weekends and after 8 pm. Bei unserem Besuch im PSI nahmen wir Senioren/innen unseren Lunch in der Oase ein. Wieder einmal das Gefühl, ein Personalrestaurant live zu erleben hat wirklich Spass gemacht. Die Qualität meines Menus, Suppe, Salat, Braten mit Kartoffelstock und etwas Gemüse hat perfekt gepasst. Auch das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist meines Erachtens absolut in Ordnung. Dies zeigte auch die Frequenz in diesem Betrieb, kaum ein Stuhl war leer.
It belongs to the category that swiss people call Mensa . I give it 5 starts however, because I 've been there 4-5 times and every single time I 'm positively surprised by their offering. They 'd have some more special dishes, which you typically don 't find in mensas. Taste is also good, price also fair.
