I had been looking forward to visiting Seafood Hut on our visit to Oban. We ordered the Smoked Salmon Sandwich, Fresh Mussels and the Seafood Platter with lobster for 2. The mussels were great, fresh and cooked well, Sandwich tasted good. Genuinely disappointed with the platter. The Scallops were good, an awful lot of mussels and only a few claws and langoustine. My main concern was the lobster which wasn’t fresh and the tail was soggy and mushy. Based on the platter my rating would have been 2 stars, however the mussels and sandwich were of good quality as were the scallops.
Decided to try this based on reviews while we were in Oban. It’s OK. Seafood/street food fresh from the boat. A bit over priced. Scallops a little overcooked and little white wine taste to the mussels. Seating provided but could be better configured. Sorry to be a bit negative but other reviews seem to escalate this as the place to go. It’s quirky, that’s about it.
A rustic seafood snack bar. To our surprise it was very crowded. Getting a “place” requires patience and time. The food on offer is really tasty, fresh and relatively cheap. I was full from the portion of mussels. My partner had a crab sanswhich and we were struggling to manage it all. Definitely an “experience”.
A no frills just good fresh seafood stall with limited benches by the side. Portions are very generous. We had the prawn sandwich, mussels, oysters and the razor clams. All so fantastic!

Wish I had gone with more of an appitite. Had the best prawn sandwich ever and the rest of the food looked amazing. All fresh and cooked to order. Worth seeking out.
What can I say..... Special. Very rustic self service with table for eating. It reminded me of eating the fishing boats that arrived at the port with fresh fish
This is where you want to get seafood. Fresh from the fishing boats parked out front, friendly staff, cook the muscles beside the queue, and great value!
