Obsession Chinese - Reservar una mesa

An unusual name for a Chinese Restaurant but nothing unusual about the Chinese food served here. Located in South Brisbane just across the road from the beautiful Southbank Parklands, Obsession offers both indoor and outdoor seating so we selected an outside table which was a good spot to also watch the passing parade of people. We were attending a show at the nearby Lyric Theatre and selected Obsession for a pre- show dinner. We were early...just after opening time at 5.30pm, so the service was very promp as was the time that our meals were delivered. We walked down little Stanley st with no booking on a Friday night and many places were full and taking details to ring when next table is free. Stopped for drink next door to obsession and decided to give it a try. There were tables free which would normally not be a good sign but we tried it anyway. We were all very happy with the meals, they were served very quickly and there was no doubt that they were cooked freshly as they were still steaming. The staff were very friendly and attentive making sure we were kept topped up with drinks. Price of $45 each for small entree, main and noodle dish plus drinks was good value. I would happily go again

Thought we'd try Obsession for dinner on a Friday night before a concert. On the positive side we were served promptly, it's a great location with indoor and outdoor seating and the food came out quickly which suited us. Sadly my seafood stir fry was disappointing as it had sparse seafood and lots of celery and very little taste. Coupled with steamed rice it was such a bland meal. Only desert is deep fried ice cream but it was very nice.

Returned after a very pleasant meal about 3 years earlier. This time we were left a little disappointed. Meals were bland and quite small. Not much of a selection for kids either. Service was great but not the nicest Chinese food.

An International and interstate party of ten were efficiently and tastefully caterd for. Not a culinary high point, but good sound Asian food with a light touch. It remains on my list of 'go back to '.
