We were spending Christmas in Algeciras and chose to have merienda in the Okay cafe in the Plaza Alta in the centre (there are other Okays elsewhere in the town). Service was prompt and efficient and the choice of cakes was excellent! The cafe is well appointed, having been recently refurbished and making full use of the exposed stone walls of the original building. There is also an extensive area of outside seating (under cover). I have read some of the negative reviews of Okay on TripAdvisor and I must say they did not represent our experience, which was overall very positive recommended!
My wife and I recently spent a few days in Algeciras on our two week vacation. We headed to the Historic District one of the days and decided on the Okay Cafe for lunch. It was a nice sunny day so we say outside under the umbrellas. We both ordered hamburgers and the local brew, Estrella Galicia. The beer was cold and tasty and the hamburgers were very good. We would both recommend the Okay Cafe for lunch.
It can get busy here along side the main town square but with the Christmas lights in the area it’s a fantastic place to sit. There is still a lot of confusion about ordering cakes and coffee often they need to be ordered separately which is strange. The service still appears to be better at this cafe than the other rude ok cafes. Coffee and cakes were very good.
One member of staff I think called Raul. Just stared at me aggressively maybe to hint I was taking too log drinking coffee in July. About a month in August 2017 later he then approached me and told me to leave the cafe before I had even sat down. lol Other staff were generally better however. I dont think he should be bullying customers in this way.
