UPDATE: Another great place for food and drinks. Service is the next level good and the overall experience was perfect. Can't recommend coming here enough! Excellent old art pub, has exactly the feeling you want and the name says it all. The staff are very friendly and was really nice to see them to make sure that it was all Covid safe and the people had masks on. Had a group of guys with masks going around her chin or not even raised, she immediately pulled up. Great historical pub in Canberra with a good wine selection and great food! Good serving size and great prices! Recommend the current specialty: Coconut Roasted Sugar Cabbage with Turkish chickpeas with walnuts and Macadamias. Sounds fascinating, so I had to try. Amazing aromas and one of the best meals I have eaten! Well done in the kitchen to try new things, this was an absolute winner! Please, SEASE, consider moving this to the permanent menu that I dine here every day if I could eat it!
Excellent atmosphere!! The staff are friendly and very helpful. The menu is just great, I tried the buffalo wings with chips. You can choose Big Plate or Small Plate deals, both of which are generously served.. even kid's plate are available here. Vegetarian menu as well. Highly recommended place. Go here to feel the past come to life with what theyve done with the atmosphere.
Really nice pub in Lyneham, mix of in and (primarily) outdoor seating. There is also an outside smoking area (but no food allowed). Chips and nachos were great, but the fish was a little sad. The beers on tap were awesome, I liked the pink lady apple cider by cider thief the best. Busy place, so come early, or late!

You gotta try this amazing pub in Canberra. Several different local beers to try, very well priced food menu with huge portion sizes. Another plus is the ambiance, the place is a well kept pub from almost a hundred years ago, with a very nice outdoor setting for the almost rare hot summer days of the capital.
A go-to place for every Australian in Canberra. The place is, as the name says, an old and authentic cabin crowded by Aussies on weekend nights. Every palate on the menu tastes magnificent. Even more, the tap beer ranges from a variety of pale ales to lagers, which change every night.
This place has a great mood. It is actually one of the oldest standing structures in Canberra. Super explosion from the colonial past. Great live music, craft beers on tap with plenty of space and shade and cool bred breezes I summer and super warm fire in winter.
It has good vibes as soon as you walk in, and it even had some groovy live music going. Heaps of tables inside and outside to keep you cozy chill depending on what you prefer. Would recommend it as a cool place to go in Canberra for dinner and drinks :

Best place, best atmosphere, loved it, but they had no burners on the front outer surface where many people were in a cold night. Fire inside was wonderful
