One of not so many restaurants on Newmarket Main Street with a patio, so you can sit down and eat (not just take-out). The patio is not real inviting though, it's basically a makeshift patio in a parking lot. Perfect for drinks at night but...not so inviting during day time. We had Saturday breakfast and the food was OK, I just wasn't happy with the so called home fries which were deep fried potatoes with the skin on. Prices were reasonable, service left some to be desired, it wasn't very attentive. This was our first visit to the Olde Village Free House, specifically to try their vegetarian options. As a vegetarian, I found the menu to be much better than other pubs in Newmarket. Unfortunately, the evening started off on a disappointing note as our server informed us that the veg curry was not available. We ended up ordering the stir fry and spinach cheese ravioli, both of which were delicious. The drinks were good and the sweet potatoes were also tasty. Our server was very helpful, professional, and apologetic about the unavailable dish, suggesting other options. Overall, we had a great experience with the food, service, and outdoor seating. Love this place for its food: ordered take out from there many times and never being disappointed. Today we actually went there for brunch and again the food was great. Simple brunch with eggs, toasts, bacon and home fries. All arrived hot, very fresh and...quickly. Another favourite there is the chicken club sandwich. So the food is great but the service was not. We were sitting outside during a hot hot day and we waited minutes for water. The place was not busy at all but our waitress was not very attentive.
have heard many things about this food and finally had the opportunity to taste their food today. because of covid, this review only refers to food. the food came fresh, hot and delicious. will definitely be reordered and looking forward to a time in which we will be able to visit for one in the gastronomy

I went to this restaurant with my family for an early dinner yesterday and had a great time. We liked the ambiance, beer selection, and the food. The restaurant was clean, the service was good, and everyone enjoyed their meals. We will definitely be coming back again!
This restaurant is amazing, possibly the best place to eat. The service is friendly and efficient, and they offer a good selection of beers. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has had an impact on the cleanliness, with noticeable stains throughout the restaurant.

It's tough to find something other than the usual deep fried bar food at any old style pub.
