We came here to celebrate closing on our first home. Upon sitting, we noticed there were ants constantly streaming towards our food. While our waiter was very polite, he was either very busy (which I understand), or he was not paying attention. We had empty cups more than filled ones. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was just so upsetting. A celebration turned into a mess.Edit: They contacted me days later with a survey. It requires the check number. Come on. It was days ago. The restaurant itself is nice, the employees are awesome, and you get a lot of food for your money, but unfortunately the food sure isn't great. Most of the food I would say is somewhere between fast food quality and frozen tv dinner. Might be fine if you want to get alcohol but there's absolutely no reason to come here just for the food. The food is a 2 star but I threw in a extra star because they did include chips and salsa with my togo meal and I'm glad they did because that was by far the best food out of the whole meal.
Is this authentic Mexican cuisine? Not really. But does that mean the food is bad? Not at all. It’s quite simple fare, and I echo another reviewer’s sentiment that it’s more in line with fast food or TV dinners. This is the kind of food a food blogger might whip up a recipe for. That said, sometimes you just crave some Velveeta queso, and On The Border always delivers on that craving.
Everything is clean and the service is 100%. The food is not authentic enough (in my very personal opinion). If you don’t see Hispanic people eating in the place, for sure the food is not quite authentic….Dietary restrictions: They have a very special food for allergic and dietary peopleKid-friendliness: Very good options for kids

My spouse and I love Mexican fare, thus IWe were surprised that this chain restaurant food was top-notch!. Plates particularly well-presented, and a shout out to our Server ALIEU who was particularly friendly, helpful and personable. If from out of town like we were, a perfect place to stop on the way to DC.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Honestly, Devi was the best waiter I’ve ever had—his service was outstanding, attentive to our needs, and he was always available when we needed assistance.
Kitchen excellent, waters lacy brought me cold dinner until bored of waiting I asked for it. They are not going to get an order for from me anymore.
