"I was hungry for her Fajitas. I used to get them in the past. They were fine, although the chicken was a tumble dryer than other times in the past. You are still doing the best life in Guacamole!"

That was a great disappointment. We haven't been on the border for a few years. Every time we start, they're busy... but we like small family restaurants more than Chains, but we remembered how great their chips and salsa were, so we tried yesterday. We started with a BORDERITA, Lunazul Reposado, Gran Gala Orange liqueur and fresh citrus sour. LIMIT TWO... because they have more tequila in them. We swear you could taste a hint of Tequila on the first sip... then nobody. It was a terrible margarita! And... the taste was terrible. They brought the chips and they're nothing like those we remembered and loved. The new chips are super thin corn tortillas cut in quarters or halves. They're big chips, but Bland. Salsa is still very good. We both ordered the SOUTHWEST COMBO. It has a Southwest Chicken Taco, a Carnitas enchilada and a mini chicken Chimi scattered in Border Queso. Served with Mexican rice and choice of beans. After 35 minutes wait... Sarah returned to the table to tell us that they have lost our order in the kitchen... but... they have ice-cold and it has now been cooked. 20 minutes later... the food came cool and coagulated. Sarah apologized and said they removed one of the meals from the bill for the delay. And they did. Of course the food would have been better. But even served It was a bad excuse for good Mexican food. Chicken Taco had fried onion rings. No taste profile that worked for one of us. The Carnitas enchilada was the next thing on the plate approaching edible. But... the cheese upstairs wasn't hot anymore... and he was coagulated. The Mini Chicken Chimi had no chicken in it... it was cheese. The Queso where she was supposed to have been crushed was served on the side... it was tasty... but coagulates with a skin on the top... and not even warm. I replaced my BORDERITA with a 22 oz Coor's light design It was ice cold and delicious. We think the reason they're always busy is the alcohol prices are very fair. The service was friendly and well meant. It wasn't Sarah's fault that the kitchen lost the order... but the additional delay and cold food that arrived was just not a good experience. We'll never be back.

Honestly $71 for what we ordered and received is almost laughable. 3 of us ate and I ordered a mixed drink and queso. My chicken was likely butterflied and cut in half . The portions are sad. For $19...give me the breast not half the breast. Just now noticing a surcharge of 3.5%. What 's that for? Covid relief? Inflation relief? Please!! You 'll price yourself out of patrons. Friendly staff and food tasted decent but not sure I 'll come back. There is no value and the surcharge is a slap in the face.

Normand was the best bartender I've ever met. We were already in this restaurant, and even though he only helped my wife and me once, he totally remembered us and knew exactly what we always drank. I was very impressed and he is excellent!!!!!! I really mean that.

Stop here after a visit to Safari Park, what a great idea! We were hungry and this place hit the square. Fast service, great beers on tap and good Mexican food! Had a great time for the next stop!
