On The Border Mexican Grill Cantina Denton

We came in around 9pm Friday night to find the place not very busy-there were many open tables available. We stood at the entrance for 5-7 minutes while we watched a server interact with diners at a table also located at the entrance. We weren’t sure whether to seat ourselves or not, so we waited still longer. The server acknowledged us, the hostess greeted us and she tried to seat us right in front of the men’s restroom. I asked if she would seat us elsewhere, I didn’t want that spot. She began telling me who had how many tables and all the reasons why we had to sit there and no place else was available (except for 1/2 the restaurant). She then walked away. My sweetie decided differently; we got up to leave but on the way out, he asked another server if we could sit in her area. She was happy to have us. We chatted with this lovely young woman who had just started working there, she was very sweet. We enjoyed a nice meal together and we’ll probably come back again.

I hardly ever leave reviews, but I wanted to leave one specifically for Amy. The restaurant closed at 11pm and my boyfriend and I went in around 10:30pm. We only wanted chips and queso but no one knew that. Because it was late and we figured everyone was ready to go home, we were expecting to be greeted with an irritated server. When Amy got to our table, she was truly a ray of sunshine. You would’ve thought we walked in mid day! She was SO sweet, patient, and even encouraged us to get whatever we want and not to worry about time. She was super genuine and coming in contact with someone that was so sweet and kind after the kind of day we had made our entire night. We even talked about how amazing she was on the way home! Amy, you are incredible. Thank you for being so sweet and kind. If anyone is coming here, ask for her! The woman deserves a raise

We arrived and wanted to sit outside. The tables were a bit wobbly and paint was peeling. Some nice table covers would help. Went inside instead and had a server ready to take out order.She was very professional and quick. The food was great, no mess ups. Overall all good dining experience.

Food was decent, service was OK. We had a party of 15 so will give them some grace for the speed of the service, but having no silverware, not ever bringing the water, and waiting till we were almost done eating to bring the second drink was fairly annoying.

grande fajita trio was excellent. keith was a very helpful and friendly server. day on a cold day and had a good meal. thank you!
