We spent our anniversary dinner here in January, the service was lovely and the view - wow! so lovely, especially watching the sunset.Food:We decided to start with some oysters (one of each) and they were great, tasting fresh which you do not get often in Canberra.My first course was the pork belly whilst hubby enjoyed the duck which set our expectations high for the remainder of the meal as they were both cooked to perfection and extremely tasty.Our next courses, the squid and lamb, whilst nice, didn't overly impress compared to the start of our meal and to other restaurants we have dined at. It's increasingly rare these days to find a restaurant that manages to offer warm ambience, good service and good food in a modern setting. On Red achieves all of those things. It was recommended to us as a great venue for a dinner for two to celebrate a special occasion and we were not disappointed. The service was attentive but unobtrusive, the four course menu was interesting and the food which arrived at a pleasingly measured pace, was very good quality. We have dined at On Red on previous occasions - tonight we chose the venue to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. The food, service, atmosphere and views were fantastic, as always. We would highly recommend this venue as one where you have a choice in your degustation menu, and are not considered a 'production line' where you receive the same meal in the same order as every other diner. My partner recently sold his parents house in Red Hill so we decided On Red was an appropriate restaurant to celebrate the sale. I booked a week in advance and asked for a table for 2 at 6.00 pm. We arrived and were shown a table for 6, I said we had booked for 2 so they were very efficient in setting up a table for us. I was very disappointed as we weren't given a table at the window. We chose the 4 course menu. I had the pork belly, which was very small and this continued with the other 3 courses. From the easy tripmup the hill and the great amount of car parks available, this starts off a great night. Then THERE IS THE VIEW! Oh my? Quite spectacular. The restaurant is lovely and neat, just enough without being fussy or pretentious. The service is attentive but not overwhelming and friendly. We had 3 courses and they were amazing! Too full and happy to tell you all the details but the menu is online and accurate. Had a wonderful wedding anniversary and taxi's are familiar getting there and back which is worth the couple of dollars so you can really appreciate the view as a couple. Thx onRed. A Christmas gift voucher from family and anniversary dinner on Friday night, we chose the tasting menu. Food over all was very good except the oxtail was barely warm! service ok but lacked attention to detail. 2nd dish of Barramundi left my husband with a bone lodged in his throat, the waitress brought bread when I asked for it and another brought soda water. He experienced some discomfort but we tried to enjoy the remaining 5 courses. However when we finalised the bill of $276 still no-one had thought to enquire if my husband was alright? lucky it wasn't serious!

A special spot showcasing Canberra's beautiful vista - autumn is particularly colorful and coupled with a lovely 3 or 4 course lunch is well worth a try!
