We decided to visit this hotel restaurant because the Sheraton was conveniently located near where we were staying at Monroe House on Forest Road. The menu may not be extensive, but it offered some delicious options, including expensive steak and lobster which we didn't opt for that night. I chose the fish tacos, while my husband had the pulled brisket sandwich. Both dishes were well-prepared and enjoyable. The twice cooked fries that came with the pulled brisket were particularly tasty. The fish in my taco was perfectly deep-fried, with a crispy exterior and tender, almost sweet flavor. The restaurant at the Sheraton hotel tries to exude class with its decor and prices, but falls short of expectations. One odd aspect was sitting next to a roaring fire while a small radio played loud music in the corner. The Old Fashioned cocktail was mostly club soda with a shot of bourbon, disappointing. The small plates we tried were not impressive and can easily be surpassed in quality at other downtown restaurants for the same price. The staff was friendly, but the service did not meet the standards of a high-end establishment.
The main dining area at the Sheraton was equally good for breakfast and dinner. It is not particularly large. The breakfast buffet was the most expansive I had in Newfoundland and Labrador, highlighted by salmon and capers plus a cheese board. The dinner options should be wide enough for the palates of everyone. A friend was able to get a good gluten free meal. My quarter pound lobster sandwich was really good, the waitress assuring me the delectable home fries in a little metal basket had no calories….
While the restaurant boasts a stunning view, the quality of the food falls short of expectations. I would not recommend dining here. It's disappointing that the hotel owners don't have access to more skilled culinary expertise. It's high time they consider hiring a talented chef to elevate their offerings and compete with the increasingly popular restaurants in the city.

Our first evening we ate at the hotel (Oppidan) the food was excellent and we both had fish and chips with Naan Bread appetizer (yummy) . Our server was Beverly and her hostess skills are above and beyond, I truly hope they realize you are one of the best.
I can highly recommend their Seafood Chowder. Probably the best that I have experienced. Played the slots in the lounge and won 300.00 after two spins. Good memories.
Had the eggs benedict instead of the (very comprehensive) breakfast buffet. Really well prepared and a generous serving of smoked salmon.
Great atmosphere, excellent service, and marvelous food for seafood lovers. Only problem is that there's just so much!

I've been a big fan of BPC since they opened and I've very much looked forward to ordering it when I can afford it.
After a long day of sightseeing in the city we were looking for a good pizza place for dinner.
