Interesting building with lovely stucco facades. Exterior is rather disappointing. The cafe was closed due to staff shortages. P.S. My review refers to current condition without comparing before and after , as the owner may want it to be. In a book, romantisches Thüringen by Lutz Unbehaun, I discovered a color lithograph by Carl Wilhelm Arldt Schloss Unter-Oppurg around 1840, with a fabulous atmosphere, at least for me. Of course, after I saw the castle on the internet and found out that it is open to the public and that it is in operation, I visited the castle with a certain expectation. The castle, which was renovated at great expense (among other things with our tax money), is now unfortunately inhabited by Ukrainians who are unwilling to work!!! There is no longer any gastronomy for tourists, but full board for the current residents. It's a shame how our cultural assets are treated!!
