Opus V - Reserva de mesa

We, two persons, went to Opus V on a Saturday evening and had reserved in advance. Opus V is located on the upper floors of the Engelhorn store in Mannheim. The entire is very elegant, modern and plain. We very much liked the setting. Service...was on an incredible high level, very courteous and attentive, swift, just perfect. The menu looked so good, we went for the complete menu with wine pairing. The house sommelier did an incredible job in explaining why wines were paired and did a great job at selecting fitting wines for the menu. This is what you expect in a restaurant. We ordered courses which were augmented by pre-dinner snacks and after-dinner truffles. Also ordered wine pairings which were nice selections from beyond Germany in most cases. We very much appreciated the English spoken during service,...which was excellent. Food preparation was near perfect, the dishes were well conceived, and as other reviewers mention, included some asian elements. The pace of the meal was pleasant, neither hurried nor slow. The ambiance of the restaurant was sophisticated without being stuffy. This is a restaurant I would go back to without hesitation, highly recommend.

The service was according to the level and as expected was first class. In the corridors, however, it is necessary to go down to the point, as not all of them could meet the high expectations. In particular, two courses are particularly striking and, in our opinion, could not go beyond the level of a raised, good-bourgeois cuisine, especially because you were little surprising in taste and missed the different textures. The beverage accompaniment (also alcohol-free) was perfectly harmonious and excellently selected. Overall a successful evening with slight weaknesses.

In words, you can't describe this experience properly! The cuisine offered must be tasted. This is art and enjoyment in a paired with extraordinary people who care about well-being in an outstanding feel-good atmosphere.
