I drive by Original Barista all of the time on my way to spin class and I always think about how it's located in such a random plaza and how nondescript it is. As a result, I never gave it a shot until I did and I wish I came sooner. It is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Costa Mesa. My best friend and I enjoy coming here as part of our routine for our girl talk.The coffee shop is quite small and most people are in and out but if you wanted to do some work here, I think you could but I wouldn't recommend it. My boyfriend and I went in this morning to try this spot for the first time because we were doing some shopping in the area and read the reviews. We ordered two iced lattes and as soon as the barista started making them the power went out for the entire block. Two other employees came out from the back, the girl immediately offered to refund us and the guy asked us if we liked cold brew and still was able to make us one drink on the house for the inconvenience. It was a very sweet gesture, and we will be back soon to try again!
If you're a coffee lover, this place is a must-visit. They offer exceptional quality that meets all expectations. The staff is fantastic and attentive to customers' needs. The menu is easy to read and very straightforward. One of the baristas has nearly 40 years of experience and shares a wealth of knowledge with the team. I highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a place to relax, work, or share stories with friends. (P.S. Don't miss out on the Mocha Zebra!)
Amazing coffee that can be hit or miss, depending on who makes it. Friendly staff, modern interior, but sometimes in the summer, it can get a little stinky. My go-to is a hot lavender latte, with whole milk, plus a tomato provolone croissantParking: I've never had trouble parking. The shop is located in a busy strip mall, but there are usually a couple of spaces open near the door of Original Barista, so a busy parking lot might be deceiving!

Warm and inviting entire time while grabbing my dose of caffeine for the day. I walked in 10 minutes to close (right before 3pm) and still received service. I'll have to give their bakery items a try next time I'm in that area.I ordered a 16oz iced cookie butter latte with whole milk and a sprinkle of brown sugar on top. 10/10This shop can be found near Triangle Square in a small center.
Delicious! This is definitely going to be our new go-to coffee spot after the gym! I had an iced vanilla matcha that was just the right amount of sweetness, allowing the excellent quality of the matcha to shine through. We also tried the "magic," which I believe is a ristretto shot with milk, and my boyfriend really enjoyed it. We'll definitely be coming back!
Staff and customers very chatty, and friendly. Coffee was so good I felt like I was moving at 3x my speed! ? Added a shot of lavender to my Americano. ??
