Oscar's Very Mexican Food

I visited Oscar's Very Mexican YEARS back for a breakfast burrito that I remembered being pretty good, but hadn't been back since, despite driving by its West Sacramento and Land Park locations all the time. I went in yesterday evening with excitement to try it out again, as I remembered the breakfast burrito being pretty solid! I got there around 5:30 and aside from one other person there, things were pretty slow. I noticed a menu upon entrance, which was a little hard to read. Drive-thru Mexican that 's not fast food? Sign me up! i 've had Oscars very Mexican breakfast burritos in the office when someone would bring them in for potlucks. I don 't understand why I 've not tried this place sooner because this is definitely a gem. On a recent road trip, my friend and I went through the drive-through to get breakfast burritos. These burritos were the size of my forearm and packed with eggs, chorizo, potatoes. This was one hefty burrito! My son and I decided to give this place a try, and planned to just go through the drive-thru, but it had a sign that read phone orders only. So, we parked and went into the restaurant. We ordered 3 carne asada tacos and a carnitas burrito to-go. There are an array of different kind of salsas, pickled jalapeños, limes, and tortilla chips for you to pack or eat as you wait. It wasn't long and our food was ready. We grabbed the bag and decided to eat a little in the car before we took off. Let me tell you, they do NOT skimp on meat. Went out here to try their carne asada fries. Interesting of interior, does seem like they are taking over a different section of the building they are in. So the interior does seem to be in (hopefully) a transition period. But the AC works, and the restrooms are clean. More importantly, the food. Was recommended to try out the carne asada fries, and they were good. They used a thinner French fry cut, not shoestring thin but think in-n-out size. Portion size was definitely meant for 2. i love their tacos ! very big and fit a good price, staff is friendly and usually are slow. food is bomb and flavorful, i would definitely recommend eating inside.
