What a hidden gem! My wife and I just left, and we were so impressed with the entire experience. It 's a great little joint that 's tucked away in an unassuming strip mall, but we were both blown away by the service and food! We had the eggplant appetizer (melanzane al cartoccio), which came out piping hot and was a perfect balance of flavors. The sauce bubbled and sizzled against the side of the bowl and was fun to eat. My first experience was great. only had appetizers) Friends had recommended it. I took my family this past weekend and was so disappointed. It seemed the regulars were treated much better with service, Chef was also visiting their tables while ignoring ours. The lamb that I ordered was not seasoned well, my friend's steak was overcooked, and the salad that we ordered did not come out on time. We asked the server not to serve the salad anymore since we originally planned on eating it with the grilled calamari. But she served it anyway lol (maybe she just didn't hear us). Oh, and just note that if you order a dish from the meat section of the menu, although it says it's served with risotto and veggies, do not believe it. Apparently, not all the meat dishes come with risotto, just 3 out of the 5 dishes (which doesn't explain that at all on the menu, please make that change). Osteria Trulli is an authentic Pugliese kitchen located in Arlington Heights, IL. Focusing on “La Cucina Povera” (cooking of the poor), That’s from the website! So what cooking of the poor is it when you charge astronomical prices for real italian food? The food might be good but maybe move to a more modest area and actually make it La Cucina Povera and stop pretending that you want it anything but Cucinare per i ricchi (cooking for the rich). Undoubtedly one of the most authentic Italian restaurants. We are talking wood fueled fire oven with incredibly deeply marinated herbs garlic and most importantly love from the moment you step. Our waitress, Kayla, was exceptionally accommodating. Felt like we were hanging out in her dining room with one of the best chefs on deck. Highly recommended.

A true gem almost hidden away in that little strip mall. Closest to my mother in laws sauce at any restaurant I've been too, and that says a bunch!
