Absolutely fantastic dinner in fact it was the best meal of our day Munich visit. Party of and we sat outside in the garden under the trees. My entree, Butter Schnitzel, was the best schnitzel I have ever had. Our waiter was...terrific and spot on with his timing. As is customary in Germany, you have the table for as long as you like, and we were there for a few hours. Much better value than downtown, with entree prices ranging from to Euro. Located near the north end of the English Garden, it was an easy minute walk from the underground train station. Lovely neighborhood to walk through.
We hadn't booked here but on an unseasonably cold wet Sunday evening it was the closest restaurant to our hotel. We were welcomed warmly and the meal and the service were good. The food is traditional Bavarian/Austrian, so substantial in content and portion sizes. The...venison casserole was excellent and there is a good selection of beers and wines. It is next to the English Garden, a huge park which starts in the centre of Munich and stretches for (nearly miles). Good value though the prices looked high when I researched it at home, in the context of German prices they aren't bad!
This little garden restaurant is nestled right against the English Gardens. It is a nice place to get a drink and a bite after walking through the gardens. A hedge surrounds the dining area, giving it a cosy feel. They have English menus, and the...wait staff are friendly. The pretzels on the table are fresh, and the main dishes are typical. They warn you that it takes awhile for them to prepare the warm food, so settle in with a beer and enjoy a well deserved break.
Beautiful location close to the Englischer Garten ! Came to the Osterwaldgarten by a pure casualty after visiting the Garten and had the most tender Gulasch ever ! Crowd was fine not for tourists though ! a very Bavarian place with a beer...garden outside ideal for warmer days ! and we had a very relaxing time far from the tourist attractions in a very quite upscaled neighborhood... good music, awesome beer and home made Apfeltaschen... fully, strongly recommended !

Visited with wife and two small children. Wait staff were very friendly, food was delicious, beer was delicious, and overall value for price was good. Locals seem to visit which it's always a good sign. Close to the garden, an easy minute walk away....We ended the meal with the dessert variety platter and were shocked away how many samples it included... it was all very delicious, nothing too sugary sweet.
Pretty much everything on the menu is delicious. Especially the duck! We made regular visits here over the summer and were never disappointed Easily one of my favourite places in Munich
We had a wonderful experience here. We all got the beef and onion, beer and salads. It was delicious!! It was expensive, but it was definitely worth it.
Super delicious Bavarian cuisine at reasonable price. Lovely and nice staff. Very rustic and cozy. Secret tip. Don't run over with Touris.
