The pub is attractive and the staff were friendly. I met a friend for lunch, we both chose the ploughman’s. It arrived, and was some bread, two pickled onions, ham, a little salad (no dressing), some sliced apple, cheese, a tiny pot of chutney and a single small piece of wrapped butter. The bit that disappointed me the most was the cheese; it was obviously mass-produced, when I have a ploughman’s in a country pub you expect rind-on cheese proper cheese. The bread wasn’t fresh but wasn’t bad. What are you supposed to do with one small piece of butter on three big pieces of bread? The ham was nice and the chutney too was excellent even if there was so little of it. But at £15.50 for a ploughma...
