We arrived without a booking and were very very lucky to get a table as we watched as other potential guests were turned away while we were there. A booking would be advised. We ordered a couple of pizzas, a Mediterranean salad and a couple of pasta dishes. The pizzas were some of the most delicious pizzas we have had, the ingredients were done perfectly and the bases were fluffy a nice thickness. The pastas were cooked perfectly and were very fresh with the flavours developed with excellent ingredient combinations. We visited this restaurant for its extensive vegan menu, and we’re so glad we did! The pastas were fantastic—very fresh, generous portions, and absolutely delicious. There were plenty of unique and exciting dishes to choose from, going beyond the usual vegan pasta options. We tried the vegan ‘cacciatore’ and the vegan creamy ‘chicken’ pasta, and we couldn’t choose a favorite! The service was friendly, even on a busy evening, and we appreciated the wide selection of local Tasmanian beverages on the drinks menu.
Italian cuisine is my favorite dining experience, and Ottimo certainly exceeded my expectations. The service was outstanding, from the chef to the waitstaff. Our meals, which included calabrese prosciutto mushrooms and salmon tortellini with limoncello, were among the best I've had anywhere in the world. It was a truly enjoyable meal and evening. I will definitely make a point to visit Ottimo whenever I'm in Hobart.
fast eating with great taste and impeccable hospitality! when they go in, the fragrance of garlic butter throws through, invites us all and ticks our appetit. we ordered some pastas and a pizza. we have tried their vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. we wiped our tellers clean and ordered more. this restaurant is highly recommended! come and eat them if at all in hobart. you will be satisfied, soul sleep.

Absolutely incredible meal here tonight! Best pasta dish I’ve ever had and the most divine pizza. You truly can tell that the pasta is made fresh in the restaurant. Fantastic service, friendly staff and the chef/owner even came out to chat you can really hear the passion and love he has for his restaurant. Would recommend to anyone visiting Hobart we will be back!
Amazing experience every time we go to the restaurant. The dishes are prepared from scratch, including homemade pasta, and the service is fantastic, even though they can be very busy. My favourite is fetucini with chicken liver. According to the chef it was his grandmother's recepy and it still works so may year later. We will be back many times!
During my stay, I ordered takeout from Ottimo several times (and I've since tested negative for COVID!). The food was delicious, and the friendly, quick service left me wondering why I don't live in Hobart. I highly recommend this place to both tourists and locals—it's a must-try at least once!
The Italian restaurant we have been looking for, for a very long time. The food was 1st Class, the wine list has some of the best Tassie Wines around. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

some of the best vegan food we had. always. we ordered two pastas. the sauces were so amazing that it had to lick from the plate. many vegan options also available. very recommended for everyone.
So many vegan options available! Pasta and pizzas. I have tried 3 different pasta dishes and they were all so yummy! Proper Italian homemade pasta
