I don't like to leave bad reviews unless they are really deserved and unfortunately this time Outback Jack's has disappointed one time too many.Booked here to show off what I thought would be great Aussie food for a visitor from Japan - the 3rd time I've done this in 6 years. The service was poor once our order was taken and the food average.Daughter ordered eye fillet with diane gravy - she got fillet mignon without gravye. Our visitor ordered T bone medium rare, no sauce - his was medium with sauce. I ordered the small steak with garlic prawn topper (for an extra $8) - I ended up with 3 very small overcooked prawns in a very ungarlicky sauce.When the meals were brought out my daughter comm...
Went in for a lunch time deal and there was little on the menu for $10. Decided on the $15 steak to be served medium. We were first ones that showed up for lunch and the meals took approximately 30 minutes to come out, including a medium rare which was served after my medium at our table. My medium meal came out well done maybe because it was thin rump steak. It didn't taste fresh and was served with fading salad and plain chips that took away any good food experience. A cheap eat and nothing pleasurable about the experience. I would avoid, as Canberra has many $10 - $15 lunch deals with drinks around that serve up really good meals.
I ordered a steak and sticky date pudding. Although I asked for a medium done steak it was over cooked and tough. The waiter recommended the sticky date pudding because, according to him, it is very popular. Unfortunately, it was nothing but a tasteless, dry, store-bought muffin topped with a store-bought bottled syrup. I complained to the waiter about the sticky date pudding and no one from the management or the kitchen bothered to apologize or even talk to me about the matter. Moreover, I was charged for that awful dessert. I'd never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I never give bad reviews,and usually think people who write bad reviews are being too critical. However, had dinner here tonight and it was a ridiculous experience. Staff had to be hassled to take orders for drinks etc. entree came out with main an hour after ordering. Less one entree and one main. Food that did come out was OK but service was terrible. Go to another restaurant if you want to enjoy your meal.

It's been good to see this restaurant in good hands finally I use to go there but last six months no because of rubbish service and when I saw new faces I went there again and very satisfied as expected from outback jacks my kids love this place food was great and service out standing I will definitely recommend
We discovered that this restaurant is recently under new management...And you could tell - The T bone steak was perfect and what a beautiful cut of meat!! Waiting time was good and the cheese cake was yummy.Thanks Kelvin If you're in Canberra come and give this place another shot - they really impressed tonight
I had the T Bone steak, medium rare. I thought it was great, tasty and cooked to specification. Service was attentive prompt and courteous. No complaints at all! Will go back, seems they are making the effort.
Expect better from a place like this. Can here for all you can eat ribs. More chips than there were ribs, very long wait and the ribs themselves weren't great. Not really value for money.

Waited over half an hour for an unsatisfactory meal that was shockingly overpriced. Overall terrible experience and will never be going there again nor do I recommend anyone else
