Whilst the service was a little slow, staff were friendly and helpful. The ambience is wonderful and romantic with beautiful architecture, decor and lighting. They have menus in German and English and most staff are able to speak English and I also think they appreciate...the opportunity to practice! The wine list is extensive as is the Steak menu. The cuts of Australian meat was wonderful to see and it was fantastic to enjoy some Australian beef after having lived in Germany for years. The steak (Tomahawk) was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and was tender and delicious. The little salad bar is ideal for fresh vegetables to have as a starter and the sides available from the menu complime...
We and an expensive and disappointing experience at Ox. We thought we would treat ourselves to the gram Porterhouse steak. On the menu it said „dry aged, tenderest and most flavorful.“ Well, it was neither if those. Our steak was really chewy and didn’t...have very much flavor. I had the impression, that it hadn’t been aged at all. For dessert we decided to share a hot chocolate cake with banana sorbet. The cake was good,and was served with fresh blueberries, but the sorbet was mandarin orange not banana. That was a shock at the first bite! When we commented on the meal, we were told that a T-bone steak can sometimes be tough, and they were out of banana sorbet. Never again!
Very nice restaurant with nice seating options both indoor and outside on nice terrace. The service, food wine selection was very good with rich options for quality dinning. Most certainly a restaurant I can recommend and where I intent to return.
I got booking online mentioned I want to celebrate my birthday on special night but I never heard from staff to say happy birthday to me I cloud give restaurant points if they impress me to say happy day. Good food should be good...service too..

arrived without reservation and they wouldn't take two of us for a quick dinner on a Wednesday night .they said fully booked though half restaurant was empty. couldn't try food
Very good food. Expensive though. One suggestion would be to renovate the decorations in the restaurant. It’s a bit old fashioned. Bottom line, it’s recommended.
