Palmetto Oyster House

The food was pretty good for the most part. Their crab chips were just store bought chips with minimal spice and the corn was frozen. The strawberry daiquiri tasted like a strawberry smoothy, you couldn't tell there was any rum in it, very sweet. The Mahi, crab cakes, red potatoes, and broccoli were very good. They have a very large selection of beer, well over 100.<br/ <br/ The biggest disappointment was the waitress. She did not tell us the specials until we asked after hearing a waiter tell another table 15 or 20 items. All she said was two things. We tried to explain what we heard the waiter saying but she had no idea what we were talking about and was not interested in finding out. She needs to learn the menu!

Been here several times with family, out of town guests, and just the girls. I have NEVER had bad service always impressed by servers ' knowledge of the beer selection/ suggestions for food/beverage. Trust them, they know what 's good. I rank this restaurant a 3.5 because I have had 2 meals I didn 't love, and because, though this is a seafood 'pub ' (in the best sense of the phrase), not a fine dining experience, the prices can be steep. When ordering, it helps to already know the menu.

Driving from Florida to jersey stop here. Dine outside since I had my small dog with me. Service was excellent as well as the food. Very reasonable price. Love the crab legs and great selection of beers.

We ate there several times while we lived in Sumter. Reliably good food and service. They get busy from time-to-time, but handle the rush. <br/ The steamed shrimp is the way to go. <br/

Food was awesome. Great prices. Their only bad thing was the waiter told my husband he would give him a sign then did not give it to him.
