It may have just been an off day for this restaurant. The kiosks weren't functioning properly, and the staff seemed a bit annoyed when I asked to place an order, as it interrupted their flirting. The Baja bowl I ordered was disappointing; the rice was undercooked, and the bottom of the bowl was soupy. Additionally, the tables were dirty, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Typically, the service and food here are decent, so I hope this was just a temporary issue.
I really enjoy this location, which is why I'm giving it a complete five stars. However, I wish they would address the issue of homeless individuals occupying some tables and not maintaining cleanliness. Perhaps they could assign employees to periodically clean the area? The girl at the counter was quite preoccupied with her phone and could have taken a moment to wipe down the tables and remove trash and crumbs. It might benefit from better management overall.
Every single employee in Panera today around 12:30 was so nice. I don't know why it struck me but each one we encountered interacted in some way that was pleasant either in actual work to perfectly complete our order to go or just in general with eye contact and a smile or comment. The whole vibe felt like most people there were either authentically enjoy their work or are savvy enough to be able to fake both are no small thing :
I ordered a half sandwich and a bowl of French onion soup for $14.38. The soup was delicious (just a heads-up, you can only order it after 10:30 AM), but my half sandwich was more like a quarter. In the photo, you can see my chipotle chicken sandwich next to the plastic ramekin filled with shredded cheese, which highlights just how small it was. I ordered a mac and cheese bread bowl through DoorDash, but I only received mac and cheese. I also ordered three drinks, but there were no straws included, and I did not receive any forks or spoons, even though I ordered mac and cheese as well as soup. The bread was stale, and the soup lacked flavor. However, the mac and cheese was tasty.
