From all amazing restaurants/braups in the Sacramento area, Pangaea Bier Cafe has always been consistently good since it opened on this very popular Curtis Park Hotspot from 2008. And in that time they had a cult after fans who ran over their Pangaea Burger as the #1 Burger in all Sacramento rave. But they are so much more than that because they carry a full menu with sandwiches, nachos, wings, tacos and salads. And of course many local brews on tap, wine and even coffee. Located directly on Franklin Blvd. and next to the 3rd Ave. in the Curtis Park neighborhood of Sacramento, this place is located directly opposite the road from the legendary Gunther 's Ice Cream parlor. Parking can be tricky, but since you are more or less surrounded by many residential areas, you should not have too much of a problem finding a place to park. Maybe in a warm summer night, where the crowd in the dozens of herds to ice could be a bit of a problem. Although I was here several times in the past, my recent visit in the afternoon of Sunday was 10/17/2021 at 2:30. Since the weather was still warm enough to dine outside, my friend and I decided to enjoy lunch on their large outdoor terrace. The interior itself offers plenty of seating and a small stage area when offering live music. Remember that they are NOT open for business on Monday and Tuesday, only in case you ask yourself. As far as my lunch, I went with her Sunday Special, that was her BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich and a beer for the amazing low price of just $11.999 tax. I paired this sandwich with an ice-cold Cosmic Rays Modern Times IPA beer and an ice-water. My friend ordered their Buffalo Hot Wings with pages of the Blue Cheese Ranch Sauce. We received a number, sat outside and our meals came within 10 minutes. Overall, my pulled pork sandwich was hearty, messy and tasty. The heaping part of the Koleslaw made it bigger than it was actually, while the crisp pickles gave it a beautiful balance. The pig was seasoned to perfection while the sauce had the hint of sweet and spice packed in one. I tried one of my friends' hot wings and they also had the perfect coating of sauce with a generous amount of meat on the wing itself. Oh, and my beer was excellent because Cosmic Rays always made a great tasting IPA. All in all, Pangaea Bier Cafe is an excellent restaurant/Brewpub/Coffee Shop/live music venue packed in one. It is the best location in the heart of Sacramento with a beautiful variety of here. If you are able to eclectic ambience, ideal interior/outside seats, food portions quality, dedicated customer service and decent prices, this place is 5-star-worthy.
