We researched this place online before arriving in Sydney. I'm glad we went. Situated in an alley, straight back from the street gives it an added atmosphere as one walks across the brick pavement to the entrance. We go to Tiki bars all over the place and were drawn to this spot for it's tiki like sensibilities....and I'm very fond of new orleans. The drinks were excellent, the proprietor welcoming, the nibbles creative and tasty. As we are both artists, we cannot help but have opinions about the way things look (and feel, and taste, and sound, and smell, and, and!). We liked the feel and look of the place, but suggest it needs more age, less light: it's too bright and too new looking...,but by the looks of it at opening time it's frequented by a lot of suits.
Had the zombie with three friends which was a really nice, well put together drink. The only issue (and what leaves me at a 4.5 but i work in hospo so I'll round up) is that they have us the bill and wanted payment just as the drink arrived. Fair enough that we said we'd pay after each drink as we only planned to stay for one but we didn't have time to take photos of our drinks or really enjoy the fire because we felt rushed into paying and the alcohol was burning. It did subtract from the experience a bit. They let us split the bill which I appreciate though. Sometimes stuff happens, overall a really chill and nice place though! Thanks for having us
A hidden gam, great atmosphere, and very friendly staff. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the sharing plate of nibbles, and our lovely drinks. We were not dressed up at all (compared to the Sydneysiders who were dressed to the nines), but did not have any problems getting in - to my surprise.
Love a creative cocktail bar!!I didn't know what to order as the menu seemed very different - they made a great recommendation based on my taste...from there I realised...these people know what they're doing, trust them!! All the cocktails we had were good, great night out!
