I visited this restaurant with friends and ordered 2 pizzas. Unfortunately, the pizzas were too crispy and hard to cut. The taste was okay, but it was a struggle to eat, with one of my friends giving up after only 2 slices. The mixed grill we ordered consisted of cheap sausages, a frozen hamburger, average steak, and haggis that looked unappetizing. The tortellini pasta was decent, but the garlic bread was made with cheap white bread, butter, and garlic salt. The lack of customers in this restaurant should have indicated to us to not go in but the 5 star reviews kept our hopes high. These hopes were quickly starting to drop when I was served what looked and tasted like cheese on toast for a starter. I was still hopeful for the main but was also massively disappointed when after a fairly long wait (considering there was one other table in the restaurant at this point) a watery, flavourless carbonara was placed in front of me. I visited this restaurant in Edinburgh and was disappointed with the service. We waited over an hour for our starters, which were not worth the wait. The main courses took around 40 minutes to arrive after we finished the starters. The portion of salmon I ordered was very small and dry. I had to pay extra for vegetables, and ended up having to wait for a new piece of salmon to be cooked in a different way. Despite being quite tasty, it had to be eaten on its own. Me and my boyfriend visited this restaurant on Sunday 15th Aug in the evening. It was a really quirky place with a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Jagode was fantastic and looked after us from start to finish. We were so impressed with her efficiency and warm nature. We would also like to thank Gregor the chef for such wonderful food. The pasta dishes were outstanding, so much so that we have re-booked for one final meal before returning to London. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The four of us dined here during a 3 night stay in Edinburgh. What a fantastic place! We were eating early and the restaurant was empty when we arrived. It didnt feel awkward as the waitress made us so welcome and chatted to us like we were old friends. Our food was hot and delicious. Lots more people turned ip as we were eating but our waitress was still as attentive. Would definitely recommend
Absolute gem of a restaurant. Incredibly warm and welcoming especially with our 2 children. The chef even came to speak to us after. Everything was prepared from fresh and the pasta and pizza were delicious as was the duck. Such a lovely place, very authentic would thoroughly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
We had a fantastic evening last night at Papavero. We were a sizeable group. Greg and his team couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was excellent, the service superb and they were very patient when we sat on. Thank you for a terrific evening!
We had caprese salad followed by the house tagliatelle and a pizza- delicious and fresh. Once again our host was kind, friendly, and in good spirits despite 18 months of covid business issues. Thanks again!

We had another fantastic evening at Papavero. The food was amazing and the staff was very attentive. Whenever we are in Edinburgh, we always make sure to stop by this restaurant.
