Pappas Restaurant - Cockeysville

We came for lunch to celebrate my great niece's 18th birthday. Everyone ordered something different and we all enjoyed our selections very much. We began by sharing fried calamari which was perfectly cooked and had a very good side of marinara. Our main choices consisted of the huge Pappas Seafood Club which contained shrimp salad and their popular crab cake, the Cheesy Chicken Chesapeake sandwich which was exactly how it sounds, the Thanksgiving Turkey Platter which was plentiful, and a hot roast beef sandwich which was very tender and lean with a gravy that didn't over power it. We eat here several times a year and chose Pappas to celebrate our 43rd anniversary. Our request for a booth was honored and it was in a fairly quiet location. Our server, Marly, was friendly, attentive and efficient. My wife and I both enjoyed a cup of Maryland Crab soup. It was well-seasoned without being overly salty. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her LARGE crab cake, noting it contained backfin meat. I was very happy with the generous serving of 7 LARGE panko fried oysters, prepared a little crispy at my request. First visit, food was good overall especially the crab cakes and crab soup, but sides were average. The service was nothing to write home about. Celebrating a 90th birthday but no mention was made about it from staff even though it was noted when reservation was made. Not sure why they bother to ask if celebrating special occasion if not even addressed. Will not come back for any special occasions, maybe just for carry out.

The crab cakes and crab imperial are exceptional and always well-prepared. Our server was enthusiastic and friendly and made sure that we were well taken care of. For dessert, one person ordered the hot fudge sundae which was huge! They were really generous with the ice cream and I wish they would have served a little less ice cream so that I could enjoy the hot fudge from the first bite. Reserva una mesa ahora
