Yes, from the outside this place looks kind of run down and old. I have been there once a year ago and the food was meh, nothing special really, So, when I heard they had a new menu I figured I would give it a second chance.I went with a friend and the new menu looked good, they seem to add a bunch of unnecessary ingredients to simple items, like, Mac and cheese with pulled pork, bacon and onion, would have been just fine as the Mac and Cheese by itself. Anyway I got the Butter Chicken Fettuccine and it was one of the best Butter Chicken Fettuccine I have ever had and for only $9 for lunch, they do have a supper size. To be honest, I usually have low expectations for pub-style food. I expect the menu to be filled with deep fried everything, and as a result everything usually tastes the same. Not so at the Parkside! The offer at least 5 daily specials, salads, fish tacos, custom pizza and even pasta on top of the traditional deep fried fare. I had the fish taco meal for lunch last week and it was very good. The fish was breaded haddock (my personal favorite), with cabbage/coleslaw mix and a side of fries. The only thing I would tell the chef is to tone it down a bit on the vinegar in the coleslaw, but aside from that, it was a great experience. My husband & I dropped in for lunch & I had a buttermilk chicken sandwich & my husband had their award winning burger (Burger week contest winner)!I was surprised to see that there has never been a review for this pub. It's been around forever & several years ago went through a make over to incorporate a smokehouse.The chicken sandwich was good but was chicken thigh & that was a first for me so it wasn't what I expected. My husband said that the burger was very good, grass fed beef....only thing is it was missing the pulled pork.It's a local watering hole in Burnside for workers at lunch time....Drop in, have a cold beer and a bite to eat.

Had a burger and onion rings for burger week and the hamburger was cold and still raw and pink on the inside. Was served the dish then never had the waitress come back to the table until it was time to clear away the dishes. Told her I did not eat my burger because it was no cooked and still pink inside. She took the burger off the portion of my bill but charged for the rest. Was the worst meal I have ever been served in a restaurant. DO NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant. Poor service and uncooked food. Everytime we come to the Parkside Pub, we are never disappointed. They just updated their menu but the food items look similar and the prices haven't haven't changed that much. The food is awesome, they have great specials, including 2 for 1 Haddock on Fridays and Saturdays and the staff is great! We love to come here with friends and family.

This is a neighbourhood pub and looks the part. It is clean and comfortable inside and the servers friendly. The food is outstanding if you are a carnivor. They smoke all their own food and it shows. Only order the Big Smokey if there are at least three to eat it.

Definitely the best breakfast out there.. was one if the biggest breakfasts we ever had..and the waitress was very friendly.. keep up the great work!

typical pub grub. dark and dingy tavern. lots of cold pitchers of beer. nice and large outside patio.

Coming in for the brunch the food was great servers were friendly music was nice not too loud.
