so in town for an all day meeting.. the club is dark and a bit tired pebblecete out the front is daggy, there is a parking sign stuck in the little memorial they have out the front.. I mean these clubs are supposed to remember all who fought in all wars. I just find that I think they have forgotten why they exist, sure token gestures to military service all a bit crummy.. All in need of a new broom. The meeting room is ok but again sad.. broken door handles crappy carpet. Sandwiches for lunch ecch $15 not worth it .. all stuck together and goopy still I have no choice lift your game guys, its not about flesh off the bone via the pokies... its about service..
I didn't find anything the club does for the martyrs except small memorial outside and remembering them with silence. It's very busy and buzzing as mostly people come to play the poker machines. At times you can find people playing lawn bowls for relief. Restaurant food is ok with good pricing however the money spinner is the hundreds and thousands of dollars people loose while gambling. Companies do work functions and my company did put christmas function there and it's simply alcohol overflowing. RSL's should come up with better community involvement and stop this gaming floors and make it family friendly club.
The food is inexpensive even if you are not a member of the RSL, and you can order anything from Australian Roast of the Day to Pad Thai Noodles. English, Cantonese and Malaysian food. One really nice thing about it is the fact that parking at the parking building across the road from the RSL is free for all guests: just ask reception to validate your parking ticket. That is a real boon this close to the Parramatta RSL.
I attend a meeting in the Club regularly and have dinner before I go.I had a chicken schnitzel and salad which was cooked well and quickly. This is an order at the counter and take a buzzer and pick when ready, the staff are always pleasant and helpful. I will be using this venue again as it is convenient before my meetings but I would recommend it to anybody looking for Chinese or Australian meals.

Don't know why but I remember this place as being much better a year or so ago.The Thai beef salad used to have slices of medium rare beef and was to die for. Ate there last week and the salad was pretty bland with chewy bits of overcooked beef. The lamb shanks were ok but overall, not what it used to be. A good venue if you sit outside on the verandah on a nice day.
Sitting outside on the balcony overlooking the edge of the park and the Parramatta CBD is a very plant way to spend a casual lunch with a beer or glass of wine. Food is very reasonably priced and so are the drinks. Have a walk around Parramatta Park and the Old Government House and then do lunch at the Club. Great way to spend a few hours.
I tried the Chef's Special Sizzling Mongolian Beef with boiled rice. It was well presented and tasty This is available on Tuesday nights, they have other specials on Monday to Thursday and Sunday I will try another dish next time I go to the Club
We stayed in Parramatta for 4 weeks during a business trip. Usually we eat at the local clubs and meet people. Thi stime we were very lucky. A very personal club, we are members now. Very good specials during the week and sundays, good beers.

The Char Kway Teow was basically a singapore noodles with flat rice noodles - disappointed. Would not classify the price as inexpensive either - one can get more authentic dishes at cheaper prices in Parramatta.
Was recently here for a friends birthday party. Its your typical RSL club. Alcohol is cheap. Service was good. They also have lawn bowls which was a lot of fun.
