Our experience at Parwana was below par. Looking at the reviews and several online blogs about this place gave us some high expectations. When we arrived and seated, it took forever to get a waiter's attention. We had to get up and walk over to a waiter to request service both times. The waiter are not observant of other customers but tunnel visioned. When we received the food, the presentation was nice with vibrant colors. We ordered the friend dumpling entree, 2 dishes of rice, 2 dishes of meat (chicken and lamb). The dumplings were really tasty and nice, but other than that the meats were too spicy. We have been coming to Parwana for many years and have always loved it and recommended it to everyone we know. Today will be the last time. The owner was so so rude when we asked her about the massive reduction in portion sizes. We understand that the price of things have increased, but we would have liked to have paid extra and had enough food. There is also a way to speak to customers, and she was unacceptably rude. All of the staff were rude. Our takeaway was not ready over 90 minutes after we ordered it. When it was given to us, there was not even a word of apology or goodbye. A really disappointing evening.
I had very high expectations after reading various reviews and recommendations. The food was very good but just a little below what I was expecting as an overall dining experience, also taking the price point into consideration. Service was a little slow on the floor as may have been understaffed on the night. We tried all the vegetarian dishes on the menu. Favourite dishes were the veggie fritters and chick pea curry. Date halva dessert and pistachio ice cream also very good. Naan bread was disappointing as expected it to be made up fresh and be soft and fluffy.
Another delicious experience at Parwana this evening with a friend. We had the dips, the lamb dumplings, eggplant and chicken. It was also super delicious and such a unique and interesting set of flavours and texture combinations. The device was friendly and efficient and there was a nice buzz in the room. I was there for a private function for 40 people and the food is delicious! The eggplant and the little fried dumplings were my favorite. Be careful with the samosas the sauce is very spicy! The service was good and fast! They allow my friends to bring their own wine so that is cool too. Parking next door this place is fantastic!
Bought takeaway cause dine in gets busy very quickly even right at 5pm. Dumplings were a standout from what I ordered. Enjoyed the Afghan flavours as they share similarities with other middle eastern dishes. Would go again as the to try the other dishes as they sound good but I didn’t want to over order.
