It's been many years since I had food from Passage to India, but it won't be long before I go back. I didn't order in advance, which was entirely my fault and I had to wait quite a while for my order. As I sat in the area for collections, it was reassuring to see how many people had their act together and had phoned in an order. The system seemed to work really well and people came in an left quite quickly. Takeaway food, like everything else has become expensive, but our bill was considerably lower than if I'd gone to other takeaways in Ards, or Bangor. Our food was excellent, tasty and I can't wait to order (in advance by phone) again!
I have written a review before, and I must say this place is fantastic. Despite some negative reviews, I personally think the poor decor adds a lot of character to the atmosphere. Yes, the service may be a bit slow, but that's because they are incredibly busy with takeout orders. Just relax, chat with friends, and enjoy your own wine or spirits. My friends from London say it's the best Indian food they have ever had! Can you tell me where else you can find a sit-down two-course meal with BYO for only £15 each? Definitely not at the captain's table.
We have been using passage to India from it opened in Donaghadee and originally started going when it was a take away in knock. I have always found the food is always high quality and consistant, sometimes you have a little but of a wait for the food but that's because it's always made fresh an I would rather wait for my excellent meal than it being rushed and horrible. We drive from Belfast for a take away now the restaurant is closed due to the covid restrictions but I can't recommend it enough and very reasonably priced too

We use this restaurant fairly regularly for takeaway meals. However lately we have found it very hit and miss and unfortunately more miss than hit!! Tonight was particularly bad with every element of the meal bad. Sauce was tasteless, chicken chewy and not fresh tasting and the bread like shoe leather. All had to be binned. This is such a shame because when they get it right it is delicious but we do not want to be playing a lottery each week with our food so unfortunately we will just have to try somewhere else!!
I have eaten here a few times lately never left a review. To be honest I don’t know why. These people ,in my opinion how to cook great Indian meals. Nothing to much bother for them. Please don’t be put of by the decor. May not look great. But very clean. I don’t think it’s their property but doing the best with what they have. The prices don’t reflect the quality. Really very nice on many occasions. A little slow. But they are very busy( that says something) . Allow at least 30 minutes.
I left a great review in 2019, I've been using this place for sit-in and takeaway for years, always been great, however, recently we got a take away and it was awful. My partner always loved the chicken tikka masala here, it was exactly the same every time, this time it was nothing like the usual, she couldn't even eat it, my dhansak was poor as well. I am assuming it has either changed hands or got a new chef. Unfortunately we will have to try elsewhere now. Shame!
I have eaten out of Passage to India several times now, I absolutely love it. The chicken tikka masala is the best I've ever tasted. Everything cooked perfectly. Staff are so courteous, helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend.

Visited with my partner this evening. Hadn't been in about 5 years so was hoping it was still as good. Couldn't fault it all. Food was great and good service and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.
While the decor may remind you of 1975, don't let that deter you. The food is fantastic and the staff is consistently charming. Just don't forget to bring your own drinks.
