We had a buy a gift voucher for an afternoon tea, and thought we’d try and use it while we were in Southend. We’re very glad we did! We were greeted at the door by a very smiley young lady, who gave us a choice of seats and explained how things worked. Then, once we were settled, Janneca, our waitress, went through what we were entitled to from our voucher, took our preferences, checked about allergies and carried on with her work. Within a couple of minutes our drinks were brought to the table, and then our food arrived, which was absolutely delicious, not long after. I went for afternoon tea today with family and we really enjoyed it. A lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes, fresh and warm scones with jam and cream and unlimited tea and coffee. We had a voucher for afternoon tea for 2 and paid for an extra afternoon tea for 1, as well as food from the full menu for a child. The voucher included extra cakes to take away too which was a nice surprise. We were serves by Ana Marie and she was fantastic, so lovely, helpful and genuinely enjoyed serving us! She's been mentioned on other reviews and she really made the while experience for us. Her colleagues were equally as lovely too. We'll definitely be going back again soon as we really enjoyed it.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! Normally, we are four friends who have lunch together, but this time we decided to change things up and try Afternoon Tea. The dainty finger sandwiches, fresh scones, and delicious Patisserie Valerie cakes were beautifully presented and incredibly fresh. We also enjoyed plenty of tea and lovely coffee. Anna Marie did an excellent job serving us and we were very grateful for her hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful treat!
We ordered two slices of carrot cake, both of which were stale and tasted like they had been frozen. The server was kind enough to exchange them for us, but the lotus biscoff cake we received had very hard ends and was difficult to cut through. It definitely did not seem fresh. The coffee we ordered was good, but overall we were disappointed with our experience. We are now hesitant to visit another Patisserie Valerie in the future.

The seating area was very spacious and comfortable. Shortly after we arrived, our friendly waitress took our order for afternoon cream tea. It included delicious crustless finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and small pots of jam, cakes with macaroons, and unlimited pots of tea. Everything was absolutely delicious.
Special offer 4 cakes for £12 take away We bought mille feuilli, cheese cake, blueberry and lime cake and a mango passion cake. The cakes were great apart from the mille feuilli. The puff pastry was raw. For the price you should expect the cakes to be perfect. You can do better.
Armed with a Buyagift voucher we paid a visit no need to book but was a quiet midweek. Staff excellent changed our sandwich fillings with no issues nice and fresh food just the right amount.Drink refills 2 was enough would recommend
Fabulous food (all day breakfast) plenty food, not too much that you're put off by. Great service from our lovely attentive waitress. It's not the first time we've ve been and would definitely go back again.

Myself and my friend came yesterday for brunch. Waitress very welcoming and attentive. Food was lovely, we both had Eggs Royale. Lovely hot and fresh. Will definitely return the cakes looked amazing.
