Paulaner am Grossneumarkt

Came here upon a recommendation by our hotel reception and what an excellent recommendation it was. The service was amazing as soon as we walked through the door, with an English menu provided (which we found was not the case in any other places we ate during our time in Hamburg). As a vegetarian I worried that there wouldn't be many (if any) options for myself but I was delighted when I turned over the menu to find a "for our vegetarians" section. I opted for the German Cheese and Onion (käsespätzle) it was delicious and a hearty portion. The staff here is awesome! I have been here many times and I have only seen one or two wait staff working at a time. They are soooo efficient (typical Germans)! The food comes out hot and EXACTLY as ordered EVERY TIME! Of course there is plenty to drink as well. I have never had to wait for a table as there is usually some place to sit even if it is crowded. I like eating inside, but there are outside sitting areas.Back to the staff....I can't believe how they an just take orders without writing things down at times, and then they get it all right! I was in this restaurant where there is great beer, great choices of dishes and on the first day the service was perfect, inclusive I chose this restaurant for a business dinner for the next day, I asked the waitress if she would need to book, she said no. ... The next day upon arriving at the restaurant the same waitress was very coarse informing that some employee had no work and the restaurant was full, as it was 07:00 PM I asked if we could wait outside ... she said "No way" come back another day .... Only came in because irish rover was packed out and they turned us away but what a result that turned out to be.Was shown to a lovely table and the waitress served our drinks very quickly while we chose our meals i chose the pork loin which was really tasty and the wife had the schnitzel which she really enjoyed.Do try this restaurant if in the area. After a walking from the hotel to city centre,we stopped to eat here.I had Nuremberg sausages with mash potatoes and Sauerkraut,my boyfriend had white sausages with Pretzel bread plus dessert(broken pancakes with stewed apples.everything was amazing and lovely. Friendly staff and cosy place to eat.

This is a traditional restaurant serving traditional Bavarian comfort food by slighly bored staff. My suckling pig was very nice and the whole place is clean and tidy and very much a chain theme restaurant. Never mind, it was fine to fill my belly before a concert.

Very nice place for having dinner. Food is served in very large quantities and is of very high quality. Staff is very fast and polite. They switch from german to english without hesitating. They can accommodate larger groups. Reserva una mesa ahora

Traditional Bavarian restaurant. It looks the part and the menu is very traditional. Modest selection of Paulaner beers. Service very friendly and the food was lovely - lots of choice for the whole family.
