I recently had an unfortunate experience at Peach Garden that I feel compelled to share. The food I ordered was simply awful. The Singapore noodles lacked any discernible flavor, leaving me utterly disappointed. Moreover, the chicken Hong Kong style emitted a concerning odor that made me question its freshness and even its identity as chicken. Regrettably, I was forced to discard the entire meal as it was inedible. It pains me to say that this take-away experience was a complete letdown. Our long standing Chinese take a way suddenly closed which is a shame as we'd never had anything to complain about it. So we've been searching for a new favourite that had delivery. Peach Garden was highly recommended. A Saturday night delivery time of an hour was expected but a mid week quote of 25 mins to 1 hour? Really? An hour and 25 minutes was the actual time so perhaps I was quoted the wrong way round? The food has been nice with the exception of the beef and vegetables with came in an unpalatable gravy and the sweet and sour sauce was not a sauce at all but gloop. And if you're giving away free prawn crackers then don't send 2 packets send 1 and take the price of them off the order,...
The food arrived over 1.5 hours late, and we couldn't even get through to the restaurant because their phone was off the hook! Eventually, my husband drove there to inquire about our order and ended up picking it up himself. Unfortunately, the food was completely lacking in flavor. Despite ordering salt and pepper chips and salt and pepper chicken for some spice, they were surprisingly bland and tasteless. The chili beef and chicken balls were overcooked and burnt, and even the sweet and sour sauce was lacking in flavor. It was a waste of both money and time. Save yourself the trouble and don't bother spending your money here.
We placed an order that totaled £57 at this restaurant. Although the food arrived promptly, I cannot say the same for the taste. The special fried rice had no flavor or color, resembling boiled white rice with meat. There was no discernible seasoning. The short ribs were poorly cut and lacked flavor, even salt, and were excessively dry. The prawns and noodles were passable, but overall, I would not recommend or purchase from this establishment again.
I used to order from Fu Min but grew tired of the flavour so started ordering from Peach Garden. I must say it's the nicest Chinese I've had in a while. Consistently good food and delivery is always earlier than stated. The salt and pepper chicken is very nice and the noodles are always delicious.
I ordered food at 6pm and was told it would arrive by 7:30pm. By 8:30pm, I had made several calls to inquire about my order but only reached an answering machine. Giving up, I ordered from another place. At 10pm, the food suddenly arrived. I will never use this restaurant again.
