This meal at The Pearl was absolutely stunning! Despite some negative reviews, our first visit based on a friend's recommendation was a huge success. In my opinion, this was the best takeaway we've had in years. The food was not greasy or oily, but incredibly flavorful, freshly cooked, and offered great value for money. The sweet and sour chicken balls were a standout, with a perfect sauce that was a natural color and had a lovely consistency (unlike other nearby takeaways). The pork dumplings were also a highlight, absolutely heavenly! The crispy chili beef was fantastic as well. I highly recommend The Pearl and will definitely be returning.
I will not be buying anymore food from the Pearl Chinese in Leafield. I paid £9.00 for two portions of chips that were burnt and dried out, it looked like they had been microwaved. I phoned the Pearl and I was told to bring them back, but as I had thrown the remainder of the first portion in the bin I took 1 portion back. I was told that I could have another portion which I didn't want. I remained calm and polite, but I was told to f off and not to come there ever again by the owner in front of my 9 year old son. I am disgusted in the way I was spoken to and I definitely won't be ordering anymore s food from there ever again!!!
When I first walked into The Pearl, I had my doubts but decided to give it a chance because of all the positive reviews. However, I was disappointed with my experience. The egg in the fried rice was overcooked and the rice itself was clumpy and dry. The duck in ginger dish had more fat than meat, and was lacking in vegetables with only two pieces of carrot and one slice of ginger. The crab soup was more like a mush and the chicken curry was not the best I've ever had. I do not recommend The Pearl, even though the owner was friendly, there were extra charges added unexpectedly to the prices.
This restaurant used to be a lovely pub with a fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and a great place for a night out. However, when I went in today for a takeaway, I was disappointed to find the lights off and the staff sitting at a table on their phones. The food was overpriced for what we received and the quality was lacking. The chips were dry and clearly reheated, which set the tone for the rest of the meal. It's a shame because this place has the potential to be a top-notch restaurant. Hopefully, things will improve in the future.

We have been having takeaway meals from the Pearl for the past few years, and they are always amazing. Satay beef is our absolute favourite, but to be fair most things we’ve had have been top notch. Really friendly and lovely owners, the food is cracking, always a quick turnaround too. Really missed the Pearl over the last lockdown, so so pleased they are open again! Keep at it and thank you!
Recently moved in the area and found this gem by accident. The food is delicious, the owner is very friendly, definitely going back to try everything on the menu! A must try is the crispy chilli beef and the garlic prawns. Even the rice was delicious! By far the best Chinese we've had in a long time!
Was so looking forward to our takeaway tonight had chilli chips and plain chow mein £15!! The chips were not fresh at all they were so dried out and the chow mein was extremely watery and runny : not worth the money unfortunately.
A great host, friendly welcoming looks after you throughout. Really good food tasty, good sized portions. Had a lovely meal vegetable spring rolls, egg fried rice, squid in batter with sweet sour sauce, seafood chow mein.

Very good Chinese restaurant in leahfield Food great. Oliver and his wife are nice hosts Happily recommend would visit again Best Chinese we have eaten in years
We always have an excellent takeaway from the Pearl. Ollie and his wife always ensure that the meal is very good.
