We have had two or three great meals at Pearl but Saturday night we felt it had become more 'Muirs' that what Pearl had to offer. It was a bit hit and miss. We had sashimi which had brilliant tuna but the salmon looked as if it had been hacked a little and hardly delicately put on a plate. We ordered one our our faves - the squid but it was rubbery and didn't taste the freshest. But our biggest disappointment was asking for a piece of nicely cooked salmon and seeing it come out in a fish and chip basked draped over salad (which wilted immediately) with hot chips (wilting the salad even more) and the salmon was over cooked and dry. Arrived in Hobart today, picked up our car & headed into the city. After checking out a few places to eat we settled on Pearl & Co at Victoria Dock. Fish & Chips plus Fisherman's Basket & a combo salad of choice. You can get a combo of 2 or 3 salads. Salads very tasty & fresh.Fisherman's Basket had generous servings & the fish & chips were fresh. Food was well cooked, service friendly, Staff helpful & atmosphere buzzy. Food arrived very quickly. There was a cheerful combination of locals & tourists in the restaurant which is set up as a very open plan dining space. There's a cracking view of the water & all the busyness surrounding it from almost any table.
This is a popular eatery so you need to pick your time or make a booking, however the late lunch time we chose was good. We really only needed a snack and thought the Land Sliders and a bowl of chips would go down well with a beer and a glass of wine. The sliders - lamb - came as a group of three and absolutely delicious - served with a crunchy slaw, the lamb had a delicious BBQ sauce. The bowl of chips was MASSIVE! These came with a small pot of spicy aioli which was yum but not enough for the amount of chips. Overall a great lunch spot to dine on the dock.Highly recommend.
I was visiting Hobart last week for a conference and had a break between sessions. I felt like a little 'something' and came across Pearl & Co. How cool that they do oysters as you want them, individually. I chose to have three oysters Kilpatrick as a pre-dinner snack with a glass of lovely local sauvignon blanc as I watched the world go by from the warmth of the bar/restaurant inside. Very pleasant staff & reasonable price.

We had lunch here today for my sister's birthday. The service was amazing, the food delicious ( curry scallop pie, salmon pasta, burger, seafood chowder, salt and pepper - all yummy) and the views over the dock were gorgeous. The prices were reasonable. And they even brought out my sister a glass of bubbles at end of the meal for a birthday treat. I highly recommend!!!
La noche anterior tuvo una buena cena, todo fue el lugar en el menú de degustación que amaba cada curso, sí, sí, las porciones son pequeñas, ¡es una degustación! Estamos completamente satisfechos! Me encantó el pato ahumado, especialmente.

La comida se cocinó a la perfección. El calamar de sal y pimienta habría tenido un poco más de chile, que se especificó en el menú. El servicio fue excelente y la actitud del restaurante brillantemente. Definitivamente lo recomendaría.
Stylish little cocktail bar, oyster bar and restaurant. The dishes are presented as works of art. They take their cocktails seriously. The service is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Quiet, intimate and stylish. A must.
